One Wood Road II
Sector:Residential
Size: 350 SQ/FT
Location: Wan Chai, Hong Kong

The show flat design consist of two sections: a small apartment tailored for newlyweds and another small apartment designed for a young family with two children. Both designs adhere to a restricted budget that caters to the needs of a typical young family in Hong Kong.

Our rendition of a compact apartment for a typical Hong Kong newlywed couple presents a single bedroom and a study or workspace. Considering the financial limitations faced by young couples, the design eliminates unnecessary decorative elements. Each cabinet and piece of furniture is meticulously crafted with practicality in mind. The primary goal of this design is to offer users comfort while prioritizing practicality.

Our design for a compact apartment suitable for a typical newly married couple in Hong Kong features an open-concept layout.

The dining area and TV/living room are connected, allowing these spaces to function as a single, larger lounge area when desired. This flexible, space-efficient arrangement is well-suited for in Hong Kong residences. This design approach helps to cultivate a sophisticated, urban feel within the compact living space, imbuing the modest square footage with a refined, elevated ambiance.

The use of a darker wood tone creates a more sophisticated aesthetic, which is well-suited for a working-class couple. Additionally, the overall simple design contributes to a contemporary and modern atmosphere, evoking the chic aesthetic of a European apartment.

The dining area, which features a built-in sofa, can easily accommodate a small group of friends. This flexible seating arrangement, when combined with the adjacent TV/living area, allows the space to be transformed into an expanded activity zone as needed. This integrated design successfully maximizes the utility of the compact footprint.

The design of the bedside cabinet creates a floating effect, which helps to add a sense of lightness within the compact space. This visual technique serves to make the room feel more open and airy, despite the limited square footage.

The recessed niche cabinet at the end of the bed creates a visual effect that gives the user the sense of depth within the space, despite the wardrobe unit taking up significant space. This design element helps to convey an impression of a more spacious and layered feel throughout the compact room.

The study area features a recessed air conditioning unit, ample storage, and a linear desk that can easily accommodate two people working side-by-side. This well-appointed workspace allows for productive collaboration within the compact footprint.

In this compact apartment, every square foot is utilised efficiently. Bookshelves and low cabinets are strategically placed wherever space permits, ensuring every square foot of the compact apartment is utilised efficiently. This thoughtful arrangement maximizes the available storage and functionality within the limited footprint.

Furthermore the counter cabinet positioned in front of the window without obstructing the influx of natural sunlight. This strategic placement maximizes the available space while preserving the bright, airy atmosphere within the home.
